Printing from Northstar™?
Printing from Northstar. There is a known issue with printing from the Adobe PDF reader or the acrobat plugin in Internet Explorer through Northstar. PDF printing is handled differently in the Northstar queueing system and results in a failure to print to the client device. Presently there is a workaround for this situation using File Transfer. The following steps outline the process.
- Save the document to be printed in your Northstar O:\ drive using the PDF viewer.
- Using the File Management menu of the Northstar desktop, download the previously saved PDF.
- Open the document on your local client and print using the client device

Tarantella client failed to install
This message more than likely indicates that the settings on your computer are not set to the required settings.
Click the Apple icon, and select “System Preferences.” In the window that opens next, select “Displays” (second row, second icon). There are two tabs: Display and Colors. In the “Display” tab, the colors should be set to millions. Quit System Preferences.
Next, open X11. From the menu, select “Preferences.” Next, select “Output” from the two tabs that appear. The color setting here should be set to “From Display.” Quit X11, quit browser (if open). Start over. IF the same error message appears again, reboot your system.
See “Required Components & Settings” for more information
Print icon will not work
If the print icon will not work, go to the “File” menu. From here, select “Print.”
The space for the default printer will either be blank or will say Tarantella session #. Whichever Tarantella session is pre-selected is your printer.
Select this printer, if it isn’t already selected, and then click “Print” at the bottom of the window.
