Imagine Solutions is a company that creates technology solutions for the medical community. Their software was created to enable doctors and medical professionals within a medical practice to manage their daily responsibilities, which included patient management and managing the records associated with a medical practice. The functions ranged from analysis of patient care, prescriptions, insurance, patient financial responsibility, and patient scheduling.

Problem:

The Imagine Solutions software was designed by a team of medical professionals in cooperation with software experts. The software did everything required; however, the accessibility was a major challenge for the doctors and other medical professionals who needed to access the system for information.

Users were limited to one specific workstation where all of the data files were stored. The users needed more flexibility and wanted to have better access to the files. With an estimate of more than $1.3 million for software modifications and other infrastructure needed to make the application available over the Web, Imagine Solutions had to look elsewhere for a more reasonable and cost-effective solution.

Solution:

After researching multiple options, Imagine Solutions discovered the power of Northstar™, which was able to move Imagine Solutions’ software to the Northstar™ network.

Within only seven days, Imagine Solutions had the solution to their accessibility problem – Northstar allowed them to deliver their software as a service directly to their users, on any workstation, at any time, with a standard Web browser.

No software modification was required, and within a month, Imagine Solutions was capable of offering its medical practice software to major clients nationwide as a remotely accessible software service.
