Through a simple distribution agreement, ISVs can distribute and deliver their software as a service through the Northstar network. The software vendor publishes their software and can offer subscription delivery as an option to their customers — including their existing sales channels or to other Northstar subscribers and channels as well.

Since our Northstar technology is vendor and platform independent, ISVs can market their products to the Linux, Mac® and Microsoft Windows™ community without investing in a product for each platform.

With your application incorporated into Northstar, any user on the network can purchase your application on-demand and begin using it immediately without the need to purchase servers, access equipment, or install software.

By giving ISVs the option to market to additional Northstar subscribers, the Northstar Publish and Subscribe program offers ISVs a significant advantage over traditional marketing methods. Through Northstar, ISVs have instant access to a global customer market.

Application Delivery
Northstar is a network of datacenters that deliver personal computing services to our clients securely from any device that is convenient to them. Since Northstar is accessed via a standard Internet browser, no special software or settings are required.

Provisioning and Billing
Our software switch automates provisioning and billing of software services through Northstar using our Internet Desktop.

Time to Market
In most cases, desktop applications can be provisioned into Northstar within days. Server-based business applications are addressed on a case-by-case basis; however, our average provisioning requires less than six weeks.

There is an integration fee charged for the provisioning of your application into Northstar and an ongoing revenue share program. Once provisioned to Northstar, your application can be demonstrated anywhere and on any device (Mac or PC) by your sales teams allowing pilot or prototype initiatives to be accelerated since no physical infrastructure is required.

Once established as a Northstar application, we maintain the infrastructure environment of your application and ensure it performs to agreed-upon specifications. We address all issues related to connectivity, capacity and performance behind the scenes.

Pricing for Northstar Publish & Subscribe applications is generally either user-based or server-based, depending on whether the software applications are considered personal computing (or desktop) applications designed for the personal computer platform, or enterprise applications, which are designed for server deployment and are typically used by multiple users.

The ISV also has several options for presenting the Northstar Publish and Subscribe fee to the end customer. Options include bundling the Northstar fee into one price to the customer, presenting subscription delivery as an available option, or directing the customer to contract separately for Northstar service.
